Hello all,

A view week ago I did buy the iMachIII P1A pendant hand wheel from VistaCNC.

With one of mine machine's it works very good. (Dynomotion Kflop+Kanalog 1000 pulses/mm)
But with my other machine the movement fail every time I turn the hand wheel more then 10 the grace (Dynomotion Kflop+Kanalog 50000 pulses/mm) (when I turn the wheel less then 10 the grace the axis move 0.004 mm)
Error: Dynomotion status: X-axis disabled.

When I use the keyboard the axis move perfect with mach3 jog C20% and with C100% and any other value for C%.

I did record the movement of the x-axis: (attached)
"Time of measurement", "x-axis Position", "x-axis Destination", "This value is useless"

http://4stepsahead.nl/assets/images/kflopdata(jog100dynomotion).txt
I did move the axis within Dynomotion jog 100% (You can see the position and destination are always nearly the same)

http://4stepsahead.nl/assets/images/kflopdata(jog100mach3).txt
I did move the axis within Mach3 with the Keyboard jog 100% (You can see the position is 180us delay of the destination)

http://4stepsahead.nl/assets/images/kflopdata(jog handwheelC10fail).txt
I did move the axis within Mach3 with the hand wheel jog 10% (You can see the position is 180us delay of the destination but just before the axis fail (at 0.157680000 S) the destination difference is positive 62860 instead of 40 negative)
0.157410000, 11500653.711, 11500163.468, 902.000
0.157680000, 11500606.462, 11500123.086, 900.000
0.157950000, 11500557.703, 11562980.219, 922.000

Maybe an integer value become's to high so it become's negative?

I hope someone know a solution.

With kind regards,

Frank Senders

Hi Frank,

Sorry no ideas.  It does sound like an overflow in their plugin or Mach3 due to to your super high resolution.

I assume by "the grace" you mean "to the right" or something?

What do you have the "Steps per click" set at in their plugin configuration?

If you change the resolution on your machine from 50,000 to 40,000 does it allow you to move 12.5 revs before it fails?

Are you saying it fails with the Mach3 on-screen jog wheel also (without the pendent attached?)

Regards,
TK

Hi TK,

Lol sorry for my English.
I ment degrees with 'the grace'.

The plugin copy the Steps per click from the motor tuning.

When I connect the pendent or not, the machine works perfect in Mach3 with keyboard!

But with the pendent:
30500 step/mm * 2040 mm/min = 62.220.000 steps/min is the limit. (The acceleration doesn't matter the machine works perfect)
31000 step/mm * 2040 mm/min = 63.240.000 steps/min. (Direct fail)

I also tried a lower velocity:
50000 step/mm * 1250 mm/min = 62.500.000 steps/min (Works perfect)
50000 step/mm * 1300 mm/min = 65.000.000 steps/min (Direct fail, acceleration = 1, feed rate = 1, step change 10, speed change 10)

It sound like an overflow in the plugin between the value 62.500.000 < X < 63.240.000 steps/min.

Is it possible I change the step/mm from 50000 to 25000 within Dynomotion? or is that a bad solution?

Thank You,

Frank

Hi Frank,

I guess we can't win.  With "Resolver" mode KFLOP set the Axis Position to Cycles x 1000.0.  We did this because with real resolvers if we just use "Cycles" then the resolution is quite low which requires too many decimal places for some systems.  In your case, a cycle from your glass scales is tiny.  The 1000.0 factor is currently hard coded into the Resolver Mode.  We would have to make a new version where that factor can be changed by the user.  If you want us to do that let me know.  But the real problem seems to be the Pendant Plugin can't handle the high super resolution.

Is it possible I change the step/mm from 50000 to 25000 within Dynomotion? or is that a bad solution?

Thank You,

Frank
